Audrea Diaz is a longform profile journalist, writer, and Crip culture activist. Upon graduating from the University of Texas, she began her career reporting on Austin’s blooming fashion scene, and has shifted to feature music personalities.
Born with Cerebral Palsy, Diaz battled prolonged self-acceptance, finding creative outlets in poetry and photography. Ultimately identifying with the term crippled has led her to explore the juxtapositions of fame culture, where she focuses on profiles aimed to humanize and deconstruct her subjects.
She is from the Rio Grande Valley, and currently based in Austin.
